Tampa Bay offshore charter fishing tips:

When fishing in the Gulf of Mexico off of St Pete Beach or in any federal waters past 9 miles be sure your fishing charter has the required federal reef and pelagic permits.

These permits allow charter boats to keep fish caught in any water past 9 miles which in our area is about 40ft. of water.

If a charter company does not have these required permits they must fish inside 9 miles, fishing only the shallow near-shore waters.
